Happy Daddy-to-be Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Even though the baby is not officially here I couldn't help, but celebrate the day with Shawn. He has been such an amazing, supportive Husband and I know that he is going to make an amazing Dad! I can't wait to watch as he takes on this new role.

Our Little Lemon Drop

Along: 14 weeks!

Size: Our baby is the size of a Lemon. Our baby's face, which is well defined, can make expressions like a squint or a frown. Considering the family that our baby is coming into, I hope he or she is learning to smile and laugh because we sure do a lot of it! Some babies start growing hair on their head or on their face at this time. Shawn and I were both born with a head full of hair, so I'm hoping this baby continues with that tradition! If our baby is a girl, her eggs will have already developed inside her ovaries and if our baby is a boy, his prostate gland is developing.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm not sure how much weight I have put on, but since we have been indulging in just about everything here in Florida, I'm sure the scale will show some change when I go to my next appointment.

Maternity Clothes: None yet! I even busted out a bikini today while at the pool. I know, I'm brave.

Gender: I'm still thinking that we are having a girl and Shawn seems to be jumping on the girl train as well. If you ask my Dad, he is all boy. He has been calling the baby his Grandson all week!

Movement: None yet! Still looking forward to when this happens!

Sleep: This week sleep has been so much better. I'm not sure if it's actually getting better or if I am just that exhausted from being up early and spending all day at the parks. Either way, I'm thankful for a straight 8 hours of sleep.

What I miss: Riding roller coasters! I'm sure that if I weren't in Florida going to the Magic Kingdom, Islands of Adventure, etc. this wouldn't be an issue, but since I'm here, I am definitely missing the thrill of a good coaster. However, I'd do anything to keep this nugget safe.

Craving: I still don't think I have any true cravings. If I have something too sweet, then I want something salty to cover it up and vice-versa, but other than that, I'm not craving anything in particular. 

Symptoms: I seem to  have turned a corner in the nausea department, which has been great! I still get pretty cranky if I let myself get hungry though. I also have a tendency to shed a few tears at the drop of a hat. I have always been an emotional person, so this doesn't surprise me one bit.  

Best Moment of the Week: We've been in Florida all week with my family, so to me the whole week has been a highlight, but yesterday was our 3rd Wedding Anniversary and we spent it at Islands of Adventure, which means I FINALLY got to experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! It was an amazing day full of butterbeer, wands, pumpkin juice and of course MAGIC! Here are a few pictures from that day. I'll  blog a full post of the whole Florida adventure once we get back!

Sweet as a Peach

We're heading down to Florida to spend a week going to the Disney World Parks and Universal's Islands of Adventure, so these pictures are a day late. Since the baby is the size of a peach, I couldn't resist the opportunity to take a picture with some Georgia Peaches!

Along: 13 Weeks

Size: Our baby is the size of a peach. Up until now our Nugget's head has been proportionally larger than the rest of it's body, but this week the body will start to catch up to the head. Our baby is also able to move and flex it's arms and legs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: It's official, at my appointment on Wednesday I have gained 1 lb. and if you're looking, you can definitely see the bump!

Maternity Clothes: None yet! I have found myself wearing clothes that accommodate the bump, but haven't had to bust out any maternity clothes yet. My jeans and shorts still zip and button for now, but we'll see how long this lasts!

Gender: It's too early to find out the gender, but we're going to let that be a surprise for the Nugget's birthday! We feel like there are so few surprises in life, or at least good surprises, so we wanted to add a little more suspense to the next months. With that being said I'm thinking we have a growing baby girl in my belly. We have several friends that our having/have had boys, so we're thinking we need to help even things out! As for names, we aren't going to reveal the official name, but a few contenders are Liam, Emmett, Gavin, Sawyer and Eli for a boy and Hadley, Emerson, Eden, Leah and Layla for a girl. I'm sure the list will change 100 times between now and Little Luda's birthday, so we'll see!

Movement: None yet, but I am definitely looking forward to feeling this Nugget move in my belly! During our last ultrasound, which was at 11 weeks 5 days, we were able to see our baby squrimming. I just can't wait to actually feel it!

Sleep: I wish I could get more of it. I feel so tired most of the time, but unfortunately it has been hard for me to get a full night of sleep. I think working night shift makes things a little harder for me, but I'm learning to love power naps and take them as often and for as long as I can.

What I miss: As of right now there isn't really anything that I miss. I have continued to run/walk/bike as often and as long as I can, which is something that I thought I may have to stop, so being able to get some exercise gives me more energy and makes me feel like a healthy mommy.

Craving: I don't really feel like I have cravings, but if I think too long on any particular food, I want it. I'm sure I'll be sending Shawn to the food store soon enough, but for now, there isn't anything that I have to have.

Symptoms: I am general nauseous for most of the day and so tired. I used to think that I knew what tired was because I worked night shift, but little did I know. As for the sickness, I  fortunately haven't had any true sickness. I just have to remind myself to eat small, frequent meals which helps keep the nausea to a minimum.

Best Moment of the Week: On Saturday, June 1st, I watched my brother graduate from RMC. It was so much fun to see him go through this life milestone. He has accomplished so much over the past four years and I know that he is going to continue to be successful as he heads into Graduate school and marriage! That's right the boy is getting married and I couldn't be more happy for him and my future sister-in-law Katie! Shawn and I love them both so much and we are so excited for what God has in store for the two of them! Here are a few pictures from Luke's graduation day.

Ready or not, here we come!

Shawn and I are excited to announce that the Lord is knitting together a miracle in my belly! We are pregnant and are expected to welcome our little one on December 12, 2013! We feel so blessed that the Lord is trusting us with one of His children!

The day we found out we were expecting is a bit of the blur. I woke up and just felt like I was pregnant, so I took a test and sure enough we got two red lines. Of course one test wasn't enough, so we took not one more, but two more tests, just to be sure.   

We called our parents right away. I had always thought that I would have some cute, creative way of letting my Mom and Dad know that they were going to be Grandparents, but in the end, I just wanted my Mom to know and I wanted her to know instantly. It didn't take much convincing on my part, even though I was sure it would. Since Shawn and I married in June of 2010, I have been teasing my Mom about her being a Grandma, so I thought it would be hard to convince her that I was actually pregnant. My family always teased that I was, "the girl who cried pregnant," but with only a few comments like, "yes, I really am serious this time," she took the news and went with it! I am so excited to see her and my Dad, as well as Shawn's parents take on the role of Grandparents for our baby! They are going to be rock stars!

Once we were able to get a recording of our Nugget's heartbeat (Becuase I'm a nurse in the ER I have access to a doppler and was able to hear the little heartbeat before the normal 12 week appointment.) we used that as a way of creatively filling in our siblings. A few phone calls and lots of happy screams later, we had 8 Aunts and Uncles excited to meet this little one.

After getting an ultrasound picture at our 8 week appointment, I filled my Grandma and Aunt Esther in on the news. They by far had the best reaction and the best quote. After convincing my Grandma that she was going to be Great-Grandma (this nugget will be the first Sellers Great-Grand baby) she simply said, "I'm happy for you, but I'm really happy for me!" I feel like that just sums up what this pregnancy means. As much of a blessing this Nugget is going to be to me and Shawn, I know that he or she is going to be a blessing to others and I am so excited to see how God is going to use this little one for His Kingdom!
